About me

Working with people who want change

My name is Anna Jaskulska. I am a psychologist and psychotherapist (education and professional experience). I live and work in Szczecin, where I run the Własne Miejsce (A Place of One's Own) therapy office — close to the city centre, in a green and quiet neighbourhood.

I work with adults as well as adolescents and children. With adults I provide individual and group psychotherapy and psychological counselling — helping with problems concerning mental health, relationships, phobias and mood disorders, and offering support in crisis situations. I also work with parents facing parenting challenges, as well as pregnant women and new mothers.

I help adolescents with difficulties concerning identity, self-esteem, and self-destructive or aggressive behaviours. For children, I run activities that develop cognitive skills and strengthen self-esteem. I conduct sessions in Polish or English.

How I work

From the first meeting to working together

First meeting

The first session is simply a conversation, during which I try to get to know the client and understand — in their own words — what the problem is and how it affects their life. Together we agree on the kind of work and the goal of therapy or counselling. Sometimes this takes a few meetings.

Psychological support and consultation

A short-term form of work, usually taken up in crisis situations or to address specific difficulties — grief, a breakup, parenting challenges, or problems with assertiveness.

Usually once a week, 50 min.

Individual psychotherapy

A long-term form of work for people whose psychological difficulties negatively affect many aspects of their life. We work together on recognising and changing the patterns that shape how they feel and how they build relationships with others.

Once a week, 50 min.

Group psychotherapy

Working in a group of people experiencing similar difficulties — allows for forming more interpersonal relationships than individual therapy and for learning from other participants.

Once a week, 90 min.
